In the 17th edition of ESPNcricinfo Awards, India’s Mohammed Shami has been awarded the best bowler award in the men’s ODI format and Suryakumar Yadav has been awarded the best batsman award in the T20 format.

Shami took seven wickets against New Zealand in the semi-finals of the World Cup and took India to the finals. Travis Head, who scored a century in the final of the World Test Championship, has been awarded the best Test batsman in men’s cricket and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, who scored a double century against Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup, has been awarded the best ODI batsman.

India has had a very good performance at the domestic level in the last decade. India had lost only three of the 46 Tests played at home from 2013 to 2023. One defeat in this was due to Nathan Lyon. Suryakumar Yadav has been awarded the Best Men’s T20 Batsman award for the second consecutive year. This time he got this award for scoring 112 runs at an average of 220 against Sri Lanka in Rajkot. Whereas West Indies’ Alzarri Joseph, who took five wickets against South Africa in Johannesburg, has been chosen the best T20 bowler among men.
