In several Indian states, young people who hope to emigrate are shown unrealistic dreams, often leading them into traps. Some are convinced to travel to the United States or other wealthy countries under false pretences, hoping to gain refugee status or political protection. With strict new policies, including bans and tightened immigration standards, Western countries aim to prevent such exploitation. Despite these efforts, migration from places like Punjab, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu to wealthier nations persists, driven by the ongoing hope for a better life.
One of the most popular and easiest methods of this migration is through spouse visa fraud. A person obtains a PR or Green Card from another country, then comes to the country, gets married, and after a few months, applies for a spouse visa for their wife. After getting the bribe, they took the girl abroad and raped her. Although most the countries have stopped issuing the so-called visa, this thing has become a business in the form of real marriages, for which a huge amount of money is taken. In the violent days, the number of such victims has suddenly increased a lot. Such victims are being forced to commit suicide in the district. Complaints are also being made against each other. Recently, the faces of 50 such families have come to light who have spent Rs 15 crores in this matter.

Dozens of youths who go abroad after such marriages are declared illegal. Every foreigner is stuck abroad. They don’t even have the money or resources to return. News reports suggest that a man spent 2.5 million rupees to send his wife to Canada.
