Haridwar, June 3: In the Haridwar land scam, 12 people, including two IAS and one PCS officer, have been suspended on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Sang Dhami. In this, major action has been taken against Haridwar DM SDM and former Municipal Commissioner. Now, the investigation of this entire matter has been given to the Vigilance, which will investigate further
In fact, the case of Haridwar Municipal Corporation buying unsuitable and cheap agricultural land located near the garbage dump for Rs 54 crore had created a stir in the state. Neither was there any actual need for the land, nor was a transparent bidding process adopted. Bypassing the clear rules of the officials, a deal was made that was suspicious at every level.
This is the first time in Uttarakhand that the government in power has directly and strongly attacked the top officials of its own system. The decisions taken by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in the Haridwar land scam are not just an action to expose a scam, but a sign of a decisive change in the administrative and political culture of Uttarakhand.
These facts came to light in the investigation report
The role of Haridwar DM Karmendra Singh in granting permission for land purchase and giving administrative approval was found suspicious.
Former Municipal Commissioner Varun Chaudhary passed the land purchase proposal without proper procedure and played a major role in financial irregularities.
The same Sadam Ajayveer Singh showed gross negligence in the process of inspection and verification of the land, due to which a wrong report reached the government.
