    Sudha Chandran credits ‘Jaipur Foot’ for international recognition

    Mumbai: Veteran actor-dancer Sudha Chandran, while talking about her life journey in an old video shared by Lehren TV, credited ‘Jaipur Foot’ for her international recognition.

    Expresses gratitude to Jaipur Foot and Dr. P.K. Sethi
    In the video, during an old program, she said, “Today, Sudha Chandran has become an international celebrity, and the credit goes to Jaipur Foot. Thank you to Dr. P.K. Sethi. I am who I am because of Rajasthan. My humble thanks to all of you.”

    She further said, “Even in this materialistic world, people take time out for social service. I am happy that I too am able to contribute a little to this great cause.”

    Message regarding disability
    The actress said that she wants to eradicate the stigma associated with disability in society.

    She said, “I want to remove words like ‘handicap’ and ‘disabled’ from the dictionary. But for that, I always need your love and support.”

    Journey from accident to success
    According to reports, Sudha Chandran lost her leg in an accident at a young age, after which she was fitted with the ‘Jaipur Foot’. This helped her return to the world of dance and acting.

    Her inspiring story was made into the film Nache Mayuri, in which she played herself.

    On television, she gained special recognition for her role as Ramola Sikand in the show Kahin Kisi Roz.

    On this show, her style and bindi art were greatly appreciated by the audience, where she played a negative character.
