Former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa described the incident as “extremely unfortunate and condemnable” and said there could be no place for violence in or around a sacred religious site.

Randhawa said attacking anyone who had come to seek refuge in the presence of the Guru was “completely condemnable and unacceptable”. He emphasised that the Guru Ghar and Sri Guru Granth Sahib convey the message of peace, tolerance, brotherhood and the welfare of humanity.

He also offered prayers for Sukhbir Badal’s speedy recovery and stressed that political or personal differences should never be turned into violence.

BJP leader and former Punjab party president Sunil Jakhar also strongly condemned the attack and urged the Maharashtra government to take strict legal action against the accused and others involved.

“Dialogue is paramount in politics, not violence. I pray for his speedy recovery,” Jakhar said in a social media post.

Jakhar said differences over political or other issues were one thing, but they could not justify an attack on anyone. He described the incident as deeply concerning and noted that Sukhbir Badal had faced such an incident for the second time.

Badal Taken to Hospital After Injury

Following the attack, Badal was taken to a hospital for treatment. The exact nature and extent of his injuries have not yet been officially detailed.
