Surge of Investment in Punjab: Mann Government’s Model attracts ₹1.23 lakh crore proposals

Punjab has become an investment hotspot under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Since March 2022, the state has received investment proposals worth ₹1.23 lakh crore, which are expected to create over 4.7 lakh jobs. Industrial development and transparent policies have made Punjab a preferred destination for investors from both India and abroad.

Leading companies like Tata Steel, Verbio, JSW, Cargill, Vardhman, and Oswal have invested in the state. Recently, the Dutch company De Huys established a state-of-the-art animal feed plant at a cost of ₹150 crore, opening new avenues for employment for the youth. The plant’s annual capacity of 180 kilotons is planned to be expanded to 240 kilotons in the future.

The government has launched a single-window system called the ‘Fast Track Punjab Portal,’ which provides investors with access to all industrial services on a single platform. Additionally, the ‘Right to Business Act’ has further simplified the process of starting a business.

To further enhance the effectiveness of the industrial policy, 24 sectoral committees have been formed, comprised of industry experts. Chief Minister Mann stated that “the combined efforts of government and industry are the key to development.”

With rapidly developing infrastructure, skilled human resources, and investment-friendly policies, Punjab has now become a symbol of trust not only for Indian but also for foreign investors.
