Survey: Rising health risks among youth due to sedentary lifestyle

It is generally understood that in the country, older people are mostly victims of deadly diseases ranging from cancer to various infections. But now a survey, which was conducted on the number of patients of the younger generation in 5 big hospitals of the country, has found that the youth of the country are dying the most due to heart diseases. Apart from this, the youth are also falling prey to diseases in large numbers. Now these diseases are not only the problem of the elderly but are also spreading among the youth.

We never tire of saying that our country is a country of youth, and we have a very large portion of the working population. Let us tell you that a study was conducted in the big hospitals of five cities from June 2018 to March 2022. On the basis of the patients included in this study, it was concluded that 10.2 percent of the youth between 16 to 40 years, 52 percent between 41 to 64 years, and 36 percent of people after 65 years of age suffered a heart attack.

The reason for this is said to be ischemic heart disease, that is, as age increases, blockage in the heart arteries increases, and young people start having heart failure. The main reason for this is their wrong lifestyle, that is, smoking, obesity, and unhealthy eating. Added to this is not getting timely checkups done, and the disease increases and lands the person in the ICU. Blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney problems have started appearing at a young age.

Another surprising thing is that patients coming from rural areas often reach hospitals late. This makes their condition more serious. Although many types of health facilities are being provided in different states, there is neither any management for heart failure patients, nor is the availability of medicines uninterrupted in these centers. It has been seen that even today, patients have to resort to private hospitals for proper treatment because the treatments are very expensive.

Due to inflation in cities, people are not able to bear the huge expenses of private hospitals. In such a situation, people get trapped in the trap of quacks. The private sector is not able to automatically contribute to the Ayushman Bharat Yojana or other old-age treatment schemes launched by the Central Government.

That is why, apart from Punjab, news has come from other states as well that, due to a lack of prompt payment, the private sector does not pay full attention to the treatment of poor people. Even today, expensive treatment is prevalent in private hospitals. In a country where the problem of unemployment is not solved, where there is only a guarantee of ending the hunger of the people, but there is no responsibility for their proper nutrition and employment, the emergence of such diseases can be dangerous; the young generation of the country can well understand this.

Therefore, the right path should be found for the right treatment. The right path is that people should get proper and cheap insurance facilities for the treatment of their disease, and not that when the time comes, the insurance companies keep hesitating to give compensation for the disease generously, and people have to face those hospitals where there is a shortage of specialist doctors, and there is a lot of malnutrition. For this, there is definitely a need for public awareness.

How will this be possible? For this, the destiny-makers of the country will have to follow such a health policy that will not strengthen the feeling of freebies or superstition among the people but will create such a healthy lifestyle for the young generation of the country.
