Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Suryakumar clarified that he never made or authorised the statement and urged fans not to spread unverified information.

Suryakumar Calls Viral Statement Fake

The viral post falsely quoted the cricketer as saying that he had not received the respect he deserved and that there was no clarity regarding his future after leading India to the T20 World Cup title.

Responding to the rumours, Suryakumar wrote:
