Sushma Gupta Removed as Haryana State Council for Child Welfare General Secretary

Chandigarh: Sushma Gupta, honorary secretary of the Haryana State Council for Child Welfare (HSCCW), has been removed from her position. Governor Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh issued a letter to this effect on June 21st.

However, the letter does not specify the reason for Gupta’s removal from the post. Nor has any new appointment been made in her place. On July 18, 2024, Sushma Gupta was appointed Honorary General Secretary by then-Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. She assumed office that same day.

This appointment was for three years. She still had one year and one month left in her term. Therefore, this is being considered a major change. Dainik Bhaskar attempted to contact Sushma Gupta to learn the reason for her removal. She did not return the call. It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister is the ex-officio President of the HSCCW, and his wife is the ex-officio Vice President.

    Big action by Raj Bhavan

According to sources, this decision was taken directly at the Governor’s Secretariat. Following the issuance of the order, responsibilities will be redefined within the administrative structure of the Haryana State Child Welfare Council. This action by the Raj Bhavan has become a topic of discussion at both the political and administrative levels.

New appointments to the council are being monitored

The position of Honorary Secretary-General is considered crucial in the Council’s operations and coordination of various child welfare programs. The HSCCW implements programs related to child welfare, education, protection, and social development. Sushma Gupta of Faridabad was the Red Cross Vice Chairperson

Sushma Gupta is originally from Faridabad. She has been involved in social work for a long time. She has also served as Vice Chairperson of the Haryana Red Cross. She has also been associated with the National Association for the Blind, Haryana State Branch, Faridabad.
