    Sutlej River breaches Sasrali dam in Ludhiana: Minister Mundiya, army rush

    Ludhiana, Sep 4: The flow of the Sutlej river increased rapidly in Ludhiana, Punjab, on Thursday. Due to this, a part of the dam in Sasrali Colony has been damaged. As soon as the weakening of the dam was known, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundia and Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain reached the spot.

    Mundiya and his workers, with the help of the villagers, have started the work of putting bags of soil on the dam again. Mundiya has also immediately informed the district administration. Military personnel have reached the spot and have taken charge.

    Hardeep Mundiya said that people should not panic; everyone will serve together. The work of strengthening the dam has started again. Of course, the flow of Sutlej River is very fast at this time, but the morale of the people of Punjab is also high. The military personnel have now taken charge. Youth from nearby villages have also reached the spot.

    Everyone is fighting this disaster together. The government is making every possible effort to provide relief to the people. Similarly, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain also visited the Dhussi Dam. At present, water has not reached any major area in Ludhiana, but the administration has alerted the people living in the villages around the river.

    DC Jain inspected Dhoka Mohalla

    MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi and Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Thursday ordered a comprehensive survey of the damage caused by the floods in the area. They assured the affected residents that the government will compensate for every loss.

    The MLA and the DC visited several houses in Dhoka Mohalla and met the affected people. They said that the Punjab government and the district administration stand with them in this difficult time. The Municipal Corporation (MC) teams were directed to clear the water accumulated on roads and streets as soon as possible and speed up the cleaning drive.

    In addition, medical teams have been instructed to conduct surveys to prevent outbreaks of potential diseases. Chlorine tablets are also being distributed to ensure the availability of clean drinking water.
