Curfew has been imposed in Jiribam district due to violence and arson that broke out in protest against the kidnapping and murder of a Meitei elder by suspected Kuki militants late on Thursday evening after the Lok Sabha elections were over. Meitei people have been forced to leave their homes and take shelter in a school.
