Patna: In a major breakthrough for security forces combating left-wing extremism, notorious Maoist sub-zonal commander Akhilesh Singh Bhokta alias Patarki, who had been absconding for nearly a decade, surrendered with his semi-automatic rifle before Gaya Police on Friday. The dreaded Maoist, carrying a reward of Rs 3 lakh, surrendered under sustained pressure from continuous operations.
