Guwahati: Assam’s flood situation remained grim on Monday with the cumulative death toll from this year’s deluge rising to 87, even as the number of affected districts came down to seven. More than 1.28 lakh people across 380 villages continued to reel under floodwaters, while thousands remained displaced and extensive damage to crops and infrastructure.
