Shillong: The Meghalaya government has notified the MBOSE hostel at Laitumkhrah locality in Shillong as a temporary detention and holding centre for foreign nationals who have completed their jail terms but remain in custody pending deportation, officials said on Tuesday. The Home (Political) Department issued the notification on September 17 after the Meghalaya High Court.
