Washington: The United States voiced concern over China’s largest-ever military exercises around Taiwan, warning that Beijing’s actions and rhetoric risk unnecessarily escalating tensions in the region and undermining stability across the Taiwan Strait. Responding to reports of the drills, US State Department Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott said China should step back from military pressure.
