Beijing: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted off the east coast of Kamchatka in Russia at 1106 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said. The epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 51.63 degrees north latitude and 159.47 degrees east longitude, Xinhua news.
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Crete, Greece, on Thursday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences. The tremor, which occurred at 6:19 a.m. about 58 km north-northeast of Elounda in northeastern Crete, was recorded at a depth of around 60 km. Following the quake, European authorities issued a tsunami warning.
