Road mishap in Kullu: Taxi plunges into gorge; three women dead, 9 injured.

In Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, today, 3 women died after a Tata Sumo vehicle fell into a deep gorge. In this accident, 7 women and one child, including the driver, were injured. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Regional Hospital in Kullu. The police have registered a case and started investigating the accident.

According to information, besides the driver, 9 women and one child were traveling in the vehicle. They were all going to see the Shirdi Mela after voting. During this, in the Lagghati area at Bardai (Kutlu Gram), their Tata Sumo vehicle went out of control and fell into a gorge about 350 feet deep from the road. Following this, there were screams at the spot.

As soon as the accident was reported, local people, police, and the fire department team reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. People present at the spot carried the injured on their backs to the road. After that, they were taken to the hospital in vehicles.

Accident occurred at 1:30 PM

This accident occurred today (Thursday) around 1:30 in the afternoon. After this, local MLA Sundar Singh Thakur also reached the regional hospital. He inquired about the well-being of the injured and consoled the families of the deceased.

According to the vehicle’s driver – this accident occurred due to brake failure. As soon as the vehicle became uncontrollable, it first hit a rock and then broke the parapet and fell into the gorge below the road.

Police registered the case and started investigation: SP

Superintendent of Police Kullu Madan Lal has confirmed the death of three people in the accident. He stated that the causes of the accident have not yet been determined. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Kullu regional hospital for post-mortem.
