Janshakti Janata Dal Declares 21 Candidates, Tej Pratap to Contest from Mahua

Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, on Monday released a list of 21 candidates for his party, the Janshakti Janata Dal. Tej Pratap Yadav himself will contest from Mahua.

The current MLA from Mahua is Mukesh Kumar of the RJD. He defeated Aashma Parveen of the JDU by 13,687 votes in the 2020 elections. Tej Pratap is currently the MLA from Hasanpur.

The Janshakti Janata Dal (JD) has released a list of candidates, featuring several new and young faces. This list also includes two female candidates.

Out of the 21 candidates fielded, 10 were RJD’s sitting seats.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s party, the Janshakti Janata Dal, announced the names of 21 candidates. These include 10 seats where RJD has sitting MLAs. These include Mahua, Sitamarhi, Shahpur, Bakhtiyarpur, Jagdishpur, Attari, Maner, Mahnar, and Baniapur. This means that he is preparing to inflict damage on his father Lalu Prasad Yadav and younger brother Tejashwi Yadav’s party, the RJD.

Tej Pratap has nominated Ajit Kumar Singh in Dumraon, where the sitting MLA of the Mahagathbandhan (Mahagathbandhan) party, the CPI(ML), is Ajit Kumar Singh. He has also nominated candidates in Hisua and Vikramganj, two sitting Congress seats.

Tej Pratap himself stood in front of the MLA of Tejashwi’s party.

Of the NDA’s sitting seats, the BJP has fielded candidates in five of its sitting seats: Wazirganj, Patna Sahib, Narkatiaganj, Barauli, and Mohiddinagar. It has also fielded candidates in two JDU seats: Benipur and Kuchaykot.

Tej Pratap Yadav was expelled from the RJD by Lalu Prasad Yadav for six years. Since then, he has adopted a rebellious stance and is contesting the assembly elections under the banner of his own party, the Janshakti Janata Dal. He will contest from Mahua, a sitting RJD seat. This list does not mention the Hasanpur seat, where Tej Pratap Yadav currently holds the seat of the MLA.
