Tej Pratap Yadav Confident of Victory from Mahua, Dismisses Exit Polls Ahead of Bihar Results

Patna: As Bihar gears up for the November 14 vote counting, political claims and counterclaims of victory are intensifying. Tej Pratap Yadav, National President of the Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), on Wednesday exuded full confidence about winning the Mahua Assembly seat.

‘We Prepare for Work, Not Celebration’
“I am winning the Mahua seat. We don’t prepare for celebrations; we prepare for work,” Tej Pratap told reporters in Patna.

Responding to questions about exit poll predictions, he said, “I don’t believe in exit polls. Let’s see what happens on November 14, but I am winning, Mahua.”

Mahua Battle Heats Up

Tej Pratap, who earlier represented Mahua in 2015, is contesting this time on a Janshakti Janata Dal ticket, facing Mukesh Kumar Raushan of the RJD.

Other key contenders include Sanjay Kumar Singh from LJP (Ram Vilas), Indrajit Pradhan from Jan Suraaj Party, and Rimjhim Devi from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Voting for Mahua took place on November 6 during the first phase, which covered 121 constituencies across 18 districts. The second phase concluded on November 11, covering 122 constituencies in 20 districts, with results for all 243 Assembly seats to be declared on November 14.

Past Record and Political Buzz

In the 2020 Assembly elections, RJD’s Mukesh Kumar Raushan won Mahua, while in 2015, Tej Pratap Yadav secured victory from the same seat. In 2020, he shifted to Hasanpur (Samastipur) and won as an RJD candidate.

Recently, Tej Pratap was seen meeting BJP MP Ravi Kishan twice at Patna Airport during the campaign period, sparking speculation about a possible post-election realignment — though neither side has confirmed it.

NDA Camp in Celebration Mode

Meanwhile, NDA leaders and supporters have already begun preparations for celebrations following exit poll predictions indicating a clear win for the ruling alliance.

In Patna, BJP state executive member Krishna Singh Kallu has ordered 500 kilograms of laddus, while Anant Singh’s family is preparing for a grand feast.
