Tejashwi Yadav pitches jobs as core Poll agenda, calls Prashant Kishor ‘Media-Made Leader’

Patna:  RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav has made employment creation the central theme of his campaign for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, declaring that his alliance’s fight is “for jobs, not jumlas.”

Yadav while speaking with the media said his promise of providing one government job to every family was both realistic and necessary. “Employment is not an expense—it’s an investment that strengthens education, healthcare and the economy,” he asserted, adding that his team of experts was working on a practical implementation plan.

Rejecting accusations of populism, Yadav said welfare measures were essential for people struggling to survive. “The NDA calls them freebies, but we call them support with dignity,” he said, pointing to his proposed Mai Bahan Maan Yojana, which promises ₹2,500 monthly to women, in contrast to the NDA’s one-time handouts.

On seat-sharing differences within the Mahagathbandhan, Yadav described the “friendly fights” in 11 constituencies as part of Bihar’s diverse political reality. “Unity doesn’t mean uniformity. The larger goal is to remove this failed government,” he emphasized.

The RJD leader brushed aside corruption charges in the IRCTC case as “routine political vendetta,” claiming the BJP-led NDA revives such cases before elections.

Taking a direct swipe at Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, Yadav said, “He is a product of media hype, not a leader with mass connect. He has no work to show for Bihar.”

Criticizing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s two-decade tenure, Yadav said governance in Bihar had “completely collapsed.” “The state is being run by remote control from Delhi,” he remarked, pledging to bring back accountable and inclusive leadership.

“With me, every citizen of Bihar will have a voice,” Yadav said, positioning himself as the face of change in the state’s high-stakes election.
