Temperatures drop in Punjab: Rain expected on November 4-5; no respite from pollution

Amritsar: Night temperatures in Punjab have also seen a drop of 1.6 degrees. It is predicted that temperatures will drop further in the coming days, resulting in increased cold.

A new western disturbance is becoming active on November 4th, which is expected to bring snowfall and rain in the mountains. This western disturbance will also affect Punjab, and districts bordering Himachal may experience rain. However, this does not seem to provide relief from pollution.

According to the Meteorological Center, temperatures across the state will drop after the western disturbance becomes active. Following snowfall and rain in Himachal, winds blowing from the mountains will increase the cold in the state. However, the western disturbance, which will become active on November 4th, may also bring rain to the state.

Rain is expected in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur on November 4th. Rain is also expected in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, and Rupnagar on October 5th. These days, moderate rainfall is expected.

No relief from pollution yet

Due to the airlock situation that has developed in Punjab, there seems to be no relief from pollution. Winds blowing in the state are also very slow. Furthermore, there is no sign of significant rainfall across the state. The western disturbance that is expected to activate on November 4-5 will also be limited to a few districts. Meanwhile, most of November is expected to be dry.

Temperatures will remain normal throughout the week

Between November 6, 2025, maximum temperatures in Punjab are expected to range from 26 to 30 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern districts and from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius in other parts of the state. Temperatures will remain near normal during this period. Minimum temperatures are expected to range from 10 to 12 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern districts, 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in Pathankot district, and 12 to 14 degrees Celsius in the rest of the state. Overall, both day and night temperatures will remain normal in the state this week.
