Terror Suspect Held in Jalandhar Ahead of CM Visit, ISI Link Suspected

Jalandhar: police claim to have arrested an accused who supplied explosives used in blasts and grenade attacks in Punjab. No photos or videos of the accused’s arrest have been released. This action came just before the Chief Minister’s visit to Jalandhar.

Resident of Nawanshahr, claims ISI links

According to police, the arrested accused has been identified as Davinder, a resident of Banga, Nawanshahr. Investigations have revealed that he was in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, and received grenades from Pakistan via drones and supplied them further.

Suspected of supplying grenades used in several blasts

Investigating agencies suspect that he supplied the grenades used in the hand grenade attack on the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh. He is also suspected of being involved in the bomb blast near the Phagwara bus stand in February.

Investigation into BSF Headquarters Blast Continues

The National Investigation Agency is now investigating the IED blast outside the Border Security Force Punjab Headquarters in Jalandhar. Police have also obtained new CCTV footage, which claims to show the suspected terrorist. Police say he will be arrested soon.

IED used to spread fear

According to defense experts, the IED used outside the BSF headquarters was low-capacity. The blast did not cause significant damage, leading to the belief that the purpose was merely to create fear. Experts believe the explosives may have been old or used in small quantities.

No organization by the name of ‘Khalistan Liberation Army’

Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that the ‘Khalistan Liberation Army,’ which claimed responsibility for the blast, does not exist. He said such posters are issued by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, to spread terror.
