Theft at Home in Jalandhar: Thieves steal cash, gold-silver jewelry worth lakhs

The incidents of theft in Jalandhar are continuously increasing. The latest case has come to light from Panchsheel Avenue, Preet Nagar, where thieves targeted the home of a family who were in Himachal Pradesh for vacation. The thieves broke through the main gate and fled with gold and silver jewelry, cash, and valuables worth lakhs. The police were informed of the incident and are investigating.

The incident came to light when the homeowner, Jatin Gulati, returned home from a trip with his family. When they tried to open the main gate, they found the lock broken. Suspicious, the family scaled the wall and entered the house to find all the belongings scattered and the locks of all the rooms broken.

Victim Jatin Gulati stated that the thieves had escaped with valuables, including approximately 70 grams of gold jewelry and 90,000 rupees in cash, stored in the cupboards. He then checked the footage from CCTV cameras in the neighborhood and immediately informed the police control room.

Upon receiving the information, investigating officer ASI Gurdayal Hira of the Cantonment Police Station arrived at the scene along with the police team. Police inspected the scene and began examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras. The investigating officer stated that the accused would be identified and arrested soon.
