Ludhiana: A house in Ludhiana’s Dugri area was burgled while its occupants were away in Karnal, with bike-borne thieves making off with gold jewellery, silver items, cash and other valuables. The incident came to light after the home’s security alarm was triggered, alerting the owner through a notification on his mobile phone.
According to the complainant, Jaspal Singh, a resident of Guru Gyan Vihar in village Jawaddi Khurd, he had left for Karnal with his family on June 30. At around 2:36 am on July 2, he received an alert from the home’s security system and immediately checked the CCTV cameras.
CCTV Captures Two Suspects
The CCTV footage allegedly showed two unidentified youths arriving on a Splendor motorcycle before entering the house. The accused reportedly broke open a wooden cupboard and stole a gold chain, gold rings, silver coins, a pair of silver anklets, two women’s watches and ₹7,000 in cash before fleeing the spot.
Police Begin Investigation
After being informed, the Dugri Police registered a case against unidentified persons under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigators are analysing the CCTV footage to identify the suspects and recover the stolen property.
