A threat has been received to blow up the Fatehabad court complex using a bomb. An email sent in the name of ‘Khalistan’ threatened to blow up not only the Fatehabad court but also all courts across Haryana and Delhi.
Additionally, the email contained a threat to blow up the Indian Parliament. Following this, a dog squad and a bomb disposal team were summoned from Hisar, and they have commenced a search of the court complex.
The entire court complex has been evacuated, and police personnel have been deployed at the gates. The police have initiated an investigation. According to reports, the threatening email—which warned of blowing up the court complex—was received on the Sessions Court’s email account around 9:00 AM.
SP Nikita Khattar was informed of the matter and visited the court complex. City Police Station In-charge Surendra and his team have also begun their investigation.
Meanwhile, lawyers had suspended work on Friday in support of various demands. They staged a sit-in protest for some time as part of this action. The work suspension, led by the Bar Association, had been ongoing since the morning when the threatening email arrived. Subsequently, the lawyers were asked to leave the premises, and security arrangements were tightened.
Earlier Threat to Blow Up the Mini-Secretariat
About six months ago, a similar threat was received regarding the Fatehabad Mini-Secretariat. An email threatening to blow up the Mini-Secretariat was sent to the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) account around 8:00 AM. The police administration conducted an investigation at the time, and the threat was later found to be a hoax.
