Three accused arrested for Gang-Raping Young Woman in Jalandhar; Three still at large

The police have arrested three accused individuals in connection with a case involving the gang rape of a young woman inside a car in Jalandhar. The police from Police Station No. 8 have also recovered the car used in the crime.

The arrested accused have been identified as Jagjit Singh alias Jagga, a resident of Goindwal Sahib; Karan Mehra, a resident of Baldev Nagar; and Arjun, a resident of Upkar Nagar.

Station House Officer (SHO) Sahil Chaudhary stated that the police received information regarding the incident from the Civil Hospital on April 28.

According to the information received, a group of youths forcibly bundled a young woman into a car, abducted her, and subsequently raped her. Upon receiving this information, a police team immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital and recorded the victim’s statement.

Victim Accused 5 to 6 Individuals

In her statement to the police, the victim accused 5 to 6 youths—including an individual named Jagga—of rape. According to the victim, Jagjit, along with his accomplices, forcibly took her away in a car, where all the accused present inside the vehicle took turns raping her. During the investigation, the police discovered that Jagga’s real name is Jagjit Singh, a resident of Goindwal Sahib.

Following this, the police arrested Jagjit. Additionally, Karan Mehra (a resident of Baldev Nagar) and Arjun (a resident of Upkar Nagar) were also apprehended. According to the police, these two individuals had also conspired with Jagjit to carry out the crime. The police stated that while three accused individuals have been arrested in this case so far, raids are currently underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
