Three Arrested with Illegal Weapons in Mohali: 6 Pistols, 12 Live Cartridges Recovered

The Mohali Police have arrested three accused individuals following the recovery of illegal weapons and ammunition. Various pistols, live cartridges, and spent shells were seized from the possession of the accused. One of the accused persons involved in the case is currently reported to be absconding.

According to the police, the CIA team received intelligence that Vikas alias Lucky—a resident of village Badala against whom cases involving assault and violations of the Arms Act are registered—was moving around in possession of illegal weapons. Acting on this information, the police set up a roadblock near Badala and apprehended him. During a subsequent search, illegal weapons were recovered from his car.

Two More Arrested Following Interrogation

The police also arrested his accomplice, Aneesh Kumar. Aneesh is originally a resident of Sonipat but was currently residing in Chandigarh. Cases involving illegal weapons and assault are registered against him in Amritsar, Faridkot, and Mohali. The police have also arrested Pradeep Singh, a resident of village Badala in Nawanshahr. However, no prior cases are registered against Pradeep.

Weapons Recovered

From the possession of the accused, the police recovered three .32 bore pistols, one .30 bore pistol, one .45 bore pistol, and one .12 bore pistol. Additionally, a large quantity of live cartridges and spent shells were found. The police also recovered a .45 bore pistol from the rooftop of a flat located in Kharar belonging to the absconding accused, Sajan. The police are currently conducting raids in search of the absconding accused.
