    Three illegal arms smuggling networks busted in Amritsar, 8 accused arrested; 15 pistols recovered

    Amritsar: The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has launched a major crackdown against illegal arms supply, busting three separate illegal arms supply networks. Police arrested eight accused in this operation and recovered 15 illegal pistols and 15 live cartridges from their possession.

    Links to foreign arms smugglers revealed

    Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested accused were allegedly in contact with arms smugglers based abroad. It is alleged that the accused were preparing to acquire illegal weapons from these smugglers and then supply them to other criminals.

    During the investigation, police also learned about the accused’s connections with other associates involved in the illegal arms supply network.

    Separate FIRs registered in three police stations

    According to the police, separate FIRs have been registered in this case at the Cantonment Police Station, Islamabad Police Station, and Chheharta Police Station in Amritsar.

    Police are now investigating the case further. The investigation aims to unravel the entire backward and forward linkages of the illegal arms supply network and identify other individuals involved in this network.

    Police Takes Strict Action Against Illicit Weapons Smuggling

    This action by the Amritsar Commissionerate Police is being seen as a major crackdown against illegal arms supply and organized criminal networks.

    Punjab Police has stated that it is maintaining a strict vigil on illegal arms smuggling and the illegal circulation of weapons. The police reiterated its commitment to continue taking strict action against organized criminal networks and those involved in the illegal arms supply.
