Three Killed, Two Injured After Alto Plunges into Ditch in Bharmour

In Himachal Pradesh, 3 people died in a road accident on Saturday afternoon, while 2 others were seriously injured. An Alto car fell into a ditch on the Orai-Samara-Runhakothi road. The injured have been sent to Medical College Chamba for treatment.

The incident took place around 12 noon on Saturday. The 5 people in the Alto car were on their way to attend a religious event in the Samra-Runhakothi area. The car lost control and fell into a ditch near Sarni bridge on the Orai-Ghathor-Samra road.

The deceased have been identified as Chatro Devi (wife of Punnu Ram) and Bashero Devi (wife of Ghania Ram), both residents of Orai village. The driver of the vehicle, Anku, who was a resident of Runhakothi, also died in the accident. Two other injured persons were rushed to Medical College Chamba with the help of local villagers, where they are undergoing treatment.

The administration has started rescue operations.

As soon as the accident was reported, the nearby villagers reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. A team from Bharmour police station also reached the spot. The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.
