Three Robbery Suspects Injured in Encounter While Fleeing in Haryana’s Kaithal

On Saturday morning in Kaithal, Haryana, there was a shootout between the police and some criminals. The police shot and arrested three criminals in the leg. The injured accused have been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment.

The accused had attempted to rob a hotel at gunpoint late Friday night. Failing in that attempt, they beat a scooter rider, smashed his head, snatched 60,000 rupees from him, and fled.

Since receiving the information about the incident, police teams have been continuously after them. After encounters at two different locations, the police arrested all three accused. One of their accomplices is still at large and being searched for.

CCTV footage of the attempted hotel robbery has also come out. In the video, the accused can be seen threatening the hotel owner with a pistol.

Attempted robbery at hotel with a pistol

DSP Crime Sushil Prakash said that late Friday night, four criminals reached Saharan Hotel in Kalayat. They threatened the hotel owner Ramnaresh and the staff by showing a pistol. However, the hotel owner and staff confronted them bravely, after which the criminals fled from there.

Robbed 60 thousand rupees from a scooter rider

After that, the four accused went to a petrol pump near Trimurti Kanth in Balraj Nagar, Kaithal, and stopped a scooter rider. Around 4:30 in the morning, they threatened him with a gun and hit him on the head with a stick, causing him to fall to the ground. Then the accused looted 60 thousand rupees kept in the scooter’s storage box and ran away. Locals nearby informed the police about the incident.

First encounter near sugar mill, two criminals arrested

As soon as the information came in, the CIA Kalayat and the Anti Vehicle Theft (AVT) team went after the criminals. The police surrounded the suspects near the sugar mill and warned them to surrender, but they started firing at the police team. In the encounter that followed, the police shot two of the suspects in the legs and arrested them, while the rest managed to escape. The suspects caught in the first encounter were identified as Sahil from Khanda Khedi in Jind and Ashok aka Golu from Mirpur in Hisar.

Third suspect caught in second encounter near Gyong village

After this, the police teams started a search operation to find the other suspects. Around 7 in the morning, there was a second encounter near Gyong village, in which Ankit from Khanda Khedi was also arrested after being shot in the leg. The fourth suspect is still on the run, and the search for him continues.

Looting incidents also confessed in Agroha and Chandigarh

DSP Sushil Prakash said that the investigation revealed that the accused had looted 40 thousand rupees from a shop in Agroha on the same night. In addition, about 15 days ago, they had also carried out lootings of 20 thousand and 50 thousand rupees from two shops in Chandigarh. For now, police teams are investigating the case seriously and are also looking into the criminal records of the accused.
