Thunderstorm Alert Issued for 30 UP Cities; Schools Rescheduled in Aligarh

There is also a possibility of lightning at some places. Heatwave warning has been issued in 22 districts. Wind speeds can reach up to 40 km/h in some areas.

Meanwhile, a new update on monsoon has arrived. It has been stuck near Maharajganj on the UP border for the last 16-17 days. It usually comes by June 20, but this time it is expected to enter the state by June 29-30. That is, it is currently moving forward with a delay of about 8 days.

Earlier on Friday, Lakhimpur Kheri was the hottest city with 43.2°C. The mercury was recorded at 43°C in Banda-Agra, 42.4°C in Lucknow and 42.2°C in Farrukhabad.

The Meteorological Department says that the heat wave will continue to bother till June 29. After this, monsoon rains will start in UP. Even in areas where there will be no rain, there will be movement of clouds. The temperature will drop from 8°C to 9°C. This will provide relief from the scorching heat and heatwave. From June 30, rain will start in most parts of the state.
