Mumbai, Maharashtra: The investigation into the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car has taken a new turn, with the Mumbai Crime Branch taking a third woman into custody for questioning. Investigators are also looking into the possible role of a wider network of people in the case.
The woman was brought to the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch for questioning. However, officials have not yet disclosed her alleged role in the incident or confirmed how she is linked to the other accused.
Earlier, two women, identified as Radha and Babita, were arrested in Delhi in connection with the case. Police teams are continuing their search for suspects in different states as the investigation progresses.
Three More Accused Arrested in Haryana
In another development, the Anti-Extortion Cell arrested three men from Sonipat in Haryana on Thursday. They have been identified as Sameer, Jatin and Ankit Khatak. After their arrest, the three were brought to Mumbai and are expected to be produced before a court as part of the legal proceedings.
The arrests came as Mumbai Police expanded their searches following earlier operations in Kota, Rajasthan, and Delhi. Officials have been carrying out raids based on intelligence inputs to trace people suspected of being connected to the firing incident.
Investigators suspect that Sameer played a coordinating role in the alleged conspiracy. According to the police, he acted as a link between Anil Pandit and the alleged shooter, Rehan. He is also accused of arranging funds and weapons linked to the incident.
The precise roles of Jatin and Ankit Khatak are still being investigated. Police are also trying to establish whether other people were involved in planning or carrying out the attack.
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Link Under Investigation
Police sources said the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility for the firing through a social media post shortly after the incident. Investigators are also examining information suggesting that a man identified as Anil Pandit had been posting messages on behalf of the gang.
These alleged links form part of the ongoing investigation. The police have yet to publicly establish the full chain of involvement or clarify the role of every person taken into custody.
With the latest arrests, the reported number of people arrested in the case has reached 10, including two women. The third woman is currently being questioned, and her alleged connection to the firing incident has not yet been publicly established.
The Mumbai Crime Branch is continuing its investigation to determine the roles of the accused and identify any other people linked to the case.
