Tirumala Ghee Adulteration Case: ED Conducts Searches at 15 Locations

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted searches at 15 locations across six states in connection with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) ghee adulteration case.

The raids are part of an ongoing investigation into alleged supply of adulterated ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), one of India’s most prominent temple trusts.

ED Targets Suspected Supply and Financial Network

Officials said the searches were carried out simultaneously at multiple premises linked to individuals and entities suspected of involvement in the procurement and supply chain of adulterated ghee. The action is aimed at tracing the financial trail and identifying beneficiaries in the alleged scam.

During the searches, investigators reportedly recovered documents and financial records that are now being examined for further evidence.

Wider Probe Into Irregularities in Temple Supply Chain

The case relates to allegations of large-scale adulteration in ghee supplied for use in TTD temple offerings, raising concerns over food safety and regulatory lapses in procurement processes.

The ED’s action follows earlier investigative inputs and is part of a broader multi-agency probe into the matter.

Officials indicated that further searches and questioning may follow as the investigation progresses.
