TMP Takes Oath in Tripura Tribal Council, BJP Boycotts Ceremony

Agartala: Members of the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) were sworn in as elected representatives of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) on Sunday at Khumulwng, marking the formal constitution of the new tribal council following the recent elections.

The oath-taking ceremony was conducted at the TTAADC headquarters, where newly elected members took charge in the presence of officials and party supporters.

BJP Stays Away From Ceremony

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) boycotted the swearing-in event, alleging corruption and irregularities in recruitment by the outgoing TTAADC administration. BJP leaders claimed that appointments were made without transparency and proper procedures.

TMP Strengthens Hold Over Tribal Politics

The swearing-in follows TMP’s strong performance in the TTAADC elections, where the party secured a decisive majority and reinforced its influence in Tripura’s tribal political landscape.

Political Tensions Continue

The BJP’s boycott has highlighted growing tensions between the ruling alliance partners in the state, with the latest dispute adding strain to relations over governance and administrative issues in the tribal council.
