TN Teacher Eligibility Test Paper II Today; Over 1.67 Lakh Candidates to Appear at 613 Centres

Chennai: The second paper of the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) will be conducted across the state on Sunday, with more than 1.67 lakh candidates expected to appear for the examination for eligibility to teaching positions in government and government-aided schools.

The examination is being conducted by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) over two days.

Paper II for Graduate-Level Teaching Eligibility

While Paper I was held on Saturday for candidates aspiring to become Secondary Grade Teachers, Paper II is being conducted for those seeking eligibility to teach graduate-level classes in government and aided schools.

According to the Teachers Recruitment Board, Paper II will be held at 613 examination centres across Tamil Nadu. A total of 1,67,743 candidates have registered for the test.

Strict Arrangements at Examination Centres

The examination will be conducted under strict security arrangements to ensure transparency and smooth conduct.

Officials have made elaborate arrangements at all centres, and candidates have been advised to reach early to complete verification procedures and avoid last-minute delays.

Entry into examination halls will be strictly regulated, and candidates are required to carry hall tickets and valid identity proof.

Paper I Conducted on Saturday

Paper I, held on Saturday, saw the participation of 61,386 candidates across 222 centres in districts including Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Mayiladuthurai and Ranipet.

Candidates with disabilities were given an additional hour to complete the exam, as per guidelines, with special arrangements made by the board.

TNTET as Mandatory Eligibility Test

The Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test is a mandatory qualification for recruitment as teachers in government and government-aided schools. However, qualifying the exam alone does not guarantee employment, as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for recruitment.
