Mumbai: The combined market capitalisation of India’s 10 most-valued listed companies increased by Rs 92,995.48 crore during the past week, with HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel emerging as the biggest gainers despite weakness in the broader equity market.
During the week, the BSE Sensex declined 194.52 points (0.25 per cent), while the Nifty 50 slipped 63.95 points (0.26 per cent).
HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel Lead Weekly Gains
Among the top 10 companies by market value, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) posted gains in their market capitalisation.
HDFC Bank recorded the highest increase, with its market valuation rising by Rs 35,808.09 crore to Rs 12.69 lakh crore.
Bharti Airtel followed closely, adding Rs 34,896.92 crore, taking its market capitalisation to Rs 11.98 lakh crore.
LIC’s valuation increased by Rs 16,065.5 crore to Rs 5.60 lakh crore, while Reliance Industries added Rs 6,224.97 crore, pushing its market value to Rs 17.71 lakh crore.
Six Companies Lose Market Capitalisation
On the other hand, six companies witnessed a combined erosion of Rs 49,294.13 crore in market value.
Hindustan Unilever registered the biggest decline, losing Rs 12,088.65 crore, followed by Larsen & Toubro (L&T), whose market capitalisation fell by Rs 11,040.23 crore.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) lost Rs 8,574.87 crore, while Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, and State Bank of India (SBI) also registered declines during the week.
Reliance Remains India’s Most-Valued Company
Despite mixed performances across sectors, Reliance Industries retained its position as India’s most-valued listed company by market capitalisation.
It was followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, TCS, Bajaj Finance, LIC, Larsen & Toubro, and Hindustan Unilever.
