Top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist ‘Musa’ killed in Budgam encounter

A top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district. According to officials, the slain terrorist has been identified as Suleman Shah alias ‘Musa’.

The encounter took place in the Korag area near Yusmarg. Acting on intelligence, security forces launched a search operation in the area. When suspicious activity was noticed, the security forces challenged the terrorists, leading to an exchange of fire.

Joint Operation by Army, Police, and CRPF

Joint teams of the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were involved in the operation. One terrorist was killed in the exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists.

He was later identified as Musa, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist.

Musa had escaped encounters before

According to officials, Musa was wanted in connection with several attacks on both sides of the Pir Panjal Range. Earlier, on September 5, an encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in the Yusmarg hills. Musa reportedly managed to escape from the scene, while his companion, Yasir, was killed.

Following Musa’s death, security forces continued a search operation in the area. Further information regarding the operation is awaited.
