Tragic Accident at Ludhiana Factory: Young Worker Burnt alive, Falls Into Iron Furnace

Ludhiana, Punjab: A horrifying incident occurred at Vital Steel Bars Limited (Buddewal Road) in the Jamalpur area of Ludhiana. During the night shift, 26-year-old Sachin Gautam fell into an iron furnace. His body was completely consumed. An FIR has now been filed against factory owner Aseem Agarwal.

CCTV: While working, a young man suddenly fell into the furnace

CCTV footage of the accident shows normal work going on at night in the factory. Sachin approaches the furnace and suddenly falls into it. As he falls, flames erupt from the furnace, sending other workers fleeing in panic.

Serious allegation of family members: We were not even given the ashes

The deceased’s brother, Manu Gautam, and father have leveled serious allegations of collusion between the company management and the police. They allege negligence in security and the lack of adequate security arrangements during the night shift. The family tearfully stated that they were not even handed over Sachin’s bones or remains, preventing them from performing his last rites properly.

Preparations for the wedding were underway

Originally from Gorakhpur, Sachin had been working at the same company for the past two and a half years. Having earned a diploma after graduating from the 10th grade, Sachin was the financial support of his family. His family was looking for a match for him, but an accident turned their happiness into mourning. Sachin’s sister is a High Court lawyer, and his brother owns his own store.

What action has been taken so far?

Based on the strong protest and statements of the family members, the police have started action. The police station has registered a case against the factory owner Aseem Agarwal under section 106 (BNS). Police say the matter is being investigated thoroughly and CCTV footage has been seized.
