Tragic road accident in Himachal, 6 dead; 5 tourists from Gujarat

Jalandhar: A tragic road accident occurred on Monday morning on the Chamba-Nurpur National Highway in Himachal Pradesh. Six people were killed in the accident, while four others were seriously injured. All the injured and deceased are believed to be tourists from Gujarat.

Tourists were traveling from Manali to Dalhousie

According to police, the tourists were traveling in an Innova Crysta from Manali to Dalhousie. Heavy rain was lashing the area at the time of the accident. A total of 10 people, including the driver, were in the vehicle. After the accident, the vehicle fell into a deep ravine.

Five deceased from Gujarat, driver from Himachal

Lalitbhai Patnani, a resident of Bhavnagar, Gujarat, his wife Mamtaben, Priyank Kanhaiyalal Bhopani, his wife Kajal, and son Diyansh died in the accident. The sixth deceased has been identified as Jaswant Kumar, a resident of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, and the driver.

Four injured hospitalized

The injured include Mayank Patnani, his wife Formaben, their 3-year-old son, Jiyansh, and Priyank Bhopani’s daughter, Priyanshi. All have been referred to Tanda Medical College, Kangra, in critical condition. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
