Trailer Truck carrying cars falls into ditch in Dehra of Himachal Pradesh

Dehra: A horrific road accident occurred at around 8:30 am on Tuesday morning at the sharp turn of Dhaliara, just before the Mata Chintpurni Temple on the Mubarakpur-Ranital road on National Highway 503 in Dehra, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh

A trailer truck loaded with five new Maruti cars suddenly lost control due to high speed, broke through a roll crash barrier installed to prevent accidents, and fell into a deep ditch. The truck rolled into the ditch and landed on the grounds of the Radha Swami Satsang Bhavan, causing chaos at the scene.

The truck driver was seriously injured in the accident. Locals immediately called 108 ambulance, after which the injured driver was taken to Dehra Civil Hospital for first aid. According to hospital sources, the driver remains in critical condition and is undergoing treatment.

Police started rescue work

Upon receiving information about the incident, Dehra police arrived at the scene and began relief and rescue operations. 

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the trailer truck was carrying five new Maruti vehicles that were to be delivered to the Maruti showroom in Kangra. All the vehicles were damaged in the accident. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

Dhaliara’s turn is very dangerous

Locals say that this turn in Dhaliara is already considered extremely dangerous, and accidents occur here regularly. The administration has installed roll crash barriers to prevent accidents, but despite this, the heavy trailer broke through them and fell into the ditch, raising questions about the strength of safety measures.

People have demanded that stronger safety barriers, speed breakers and bigger warning sign boards be installed at this spot to prevent such incidents in future.

Police and administration teams arrived at the scene and began removing the trailer and making the road safe. A detailed investigation is currently underway.
