Truck Collides with Car in Ludhiana; One succumbs to injuries

One person died and another was injured in a road accident in Ludhiana. The deceased was traveling in a car with companions to attend a friend’s wedding. During the journey, an unidentified truck collided with their vehicle on Chandigarh Road.

The injured individuals were taken to Apollo Hospital, where one of them, Ravindra Rajput, passed away while undergoing treatment. The police at Division No. 6 Police Station have registered a case against the unidentified truck driver and have initiated an investigation.

Heading to a Wedding Ceremony with Friends

The complainant, Jitendra Singh, a resident of Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), informed the police that on April 29, 2026, his younger brother, Ravindra Rajput (32), had traveled in a car (bearing registration number PB91-02089) with his friends to attend the wedding ceremony of his colleague Manoj Srivastava’s son at Veer Palace, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana.

Truck Driver Flees the Scene After the Accident

On their return journey, as their car reached the Delhi Road flyover—located in front of the Hero Cycles factory—an unidentified truck, being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, violently collided with their vehicle. Following the accident, the truck driver fled the scene.

Married Only a Few Years Ago; Leaves Behind a Child

Ravindra Rajput and Adarsh ​​Yadav sustained critical injuries in the accident. Both were admitted to Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana, for treatment. Ravindra succumbed to his injuries the following day, April 30, while undergoing treatment. A child survives Ravindra; he had been married for only a few years.

Ravindra’s body has been placed in the mortuary at the Civil Hospital. His post-mortem examination is scheduled for today, after which his body will be handed over to his family members.

Police Register Case and Initiate Investigation

The police have registered a case against the unidentified truck driver under Sections 281, 125A, 324(4), and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Currently, a search for the accused is underway, and the matter remains under investigation.
