Trump confirms US-Iran talks will be held in Islamabad, issues stern warning to Tehran

Washington: US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the second round of talks between the US and Iran will be held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Monday. He stated that US representatives will arrive in Islamabad by Sunday evening to discuss the possibilities of a peace agreement.

Expresses hope for a deal
Speaking to ABC journalist Jonathan Karl, Trump said he believes a peace agreement is possible, but accused Iran of “serious violations” during the recent ceasefire. He said the issue will be resolved “one way or another,” whether through diplomacy or tough measures.

Stern warning to Iran on Truth Social
Trump stated on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the US has offered a “fair and reasonable agreement” and expects Iran to accept it. He warned that if Tehran rejects the offer, the US could target vital infrastructure such as power plants and bridges.

Allegations Regarding the Strait of Hormuz and Ships
Trump also claimed that Iran violated the ceasefire by carrying out attacks in the Strait of Hormuz and targeting foreign ships. He said that Iran tried to close this vital waterway, but its activities have already been disrupted due to US action. He further said that several ships are heading to US ports, including those in Texas, Louisiana, and Alaska, carrying cargo linked to Iran’s IRGC.
