Washington, Mar 31: Donald Trump has told his aides that he is prepared to end the military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz is not fully opened. This information was revealed in a Wall Street Journal report.

Emphasis on 4-6 week timeframe

According to the report, Trump and his advisors assessed that attempts to open the Strait of Hormuz could prolong the war, extending beyond the stipulated 4-6 week timeframe.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also stated that the duration of the military campaign was initially planned for 4 to 6 weeks and has now reached its 30th day.

Weakening Iran’s military strength is the primary goal

According to the report, the US’s primary objective is to weaken Iran’s naval and missile capabilities. After this, efforts will be made to reopen the trade route through diplomatic pressure while reducing military action.

Assigning responsibility to allies if necessary

If diplomatic efforts fail, the US may pressure European and Gulf countries to take responsibility for opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Levitt also indicated that countries like Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia could participate in this operation.
