Six soldiers identified by the Pentagon

The Pentagon confirmed the identities of the six soldiers killed in the attack. They were part of the 103rd Sustainment Command, a US Army Reserve unit responsible for providing food, fuel, equipment and supplies to deployed forces.

The fallen soldiers were identified as:

• Capt. Cody Khork, 35

• Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, 54

• Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, 39

• Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens, 42

• Sgt. Declan Coady, 20

The soldiers came from different US states and were remembered by their families as dedicated service members and loved ones.

Rising tensions in the Middle East

The drone strike that killed the soldiers came shortly after the US and Israel launched a large-scale military campaign against Iran. The conflict has raised fears of wider escalation in the Middle East, with Iran retaliating through drone and missile attacks on US-linked targets in the region.
