Washington, DC: U.S. President Donald Trump has said it’s “NOT a war” as he claimed Washington has “made a lot” of progress Dealing With Iran and said more oil is being taken out of the country than before hostilities began.
Trump Says U.S. Has Made Progress Dealing With Iran
“We made a lot of progress with Iran. We’re taking out more oil now than we were before the war. It’s NOT a war. It can’t be a war when for five months nobody was hurt, killed, or anything else. It’s NOT a war,” Trump said.
The comments come amid uncertainty over the direction of the U.S. military operation against Iran, as new airstrikes are being considered. His claims that current tensions do NOT amount to a war come amid considerations at the White House over military options and wider tensions with Tehran.
Trump Says Middle East Would Not Be Here Without His Action Against Iran
He went on to claim the region WOULD NOT EXIST TODAY if his administration had NOT intervened to prevent Iran developing atomic weapons. He also asked users on his Truth Social platform “is everyone aware that it was me stopping Iran from getting a Nuclear Weapon?
“Israel and, in fact, the entire Middle East, WOULD NOT EXIST TODAY if I did NOT stop Iran from having a Nuclear Weapon. Nobody wants to say that, but everybody knows it’s true!”
Trump has repeatedly claimed that strikes against Iran’s atomic programme were a “great success”. There were extensive bombardments by Washington and Israel targeting Iran’s nuclear sites and military installations throughout 2025 and 2026.
Uncertain About Effects On Iran’s Nuclear Programme
However, there is still uncertainty over how much damage has been done to Tehran’s nuclear programme. An analysis by the Congressional Research Service said “the effects of targeting Iran’s nuclear programme are unclear”.
It also pointed out that it has been historically agreed upon that Iran have NOT developed any nuclear weapons.
Iran continue to deny any aspirations to develop nuclear weapons, stating all uses of their atomic programme are of a civil nature.
