Deadly Bus Crash and Fire in Western Türkiye Leaves 8 Dead, Infant Among Victims

Ankara: At least eight people, including an infant, were killed and 33 others injured after a tourist bus crashed and caught fire in western Türkiye, according to media reports.

The incident occurred when a passenger bus travelling on a highway in western Türkiye lost control, crashed into roadside barriers, and burst into flames, trapping several passengers inside before emergency teams arrived.

Crash, Fire and Casualties

Officials said the bus was carrying dozens of passengers when it met with the accident. Following the impact, the vehicle caught fire rapidly, leading to multiple fatalities at the scene. Among the dead was a 9-month-old infant.

Emergency responders rushed to the site and managed to rescue survivors, while firefighters extinguished the blaze after extensive efforts.

Rescue Operation and Injuries

Rescue teams, including medical personnel and local emergency units, evacuated injured passengers and shifted them to nearby hospitals. Authorities confirmed that 33 people sustained injuries, several of them serious.
