Two Accused Linked to Babbar Khalsa International Arrested in Amritsar; Major Terror Plot Foiled

The Punjab Police has achieved a major breakthrough. Acting on intelligence, the Counter-Intelligence wing in Amritsar has arrested two accused individuals linked to foreign handlers and the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The police have also recovered two hand grenades from their possession.

According to reports, a police team, acting on a tip-off, arrested a young man named Ajay. The accused, Ajay—identified as the son of Ram Swaroop—is a resident of the Bajigar Mohalla in Ajnala. The police apprehended him along with his accomplice.

Two Hand Grenades Recovered During Search; Security Agencies on Alert

During a search, two hand grenades were recovered from the possession of the two accused individuals. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the recovered hand grenades were part of a larger conspiracy. The accused had planned to target government institutions and infrastructure in Punjab with the aim of destabilizing the state’s atmosphere and disrupting law and order. The police state that, through timely action, a major conspiracy has been foiled.

Case Registered at SSOC Amritsar

A case regarding this matter has been registered at the SSOC Police Station in Amritsar under Section 61(2) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) and Sections 4/5 of the Explosive Substances Act. Police officials state that the interrogation of the accused is ongoing, and significant revelations are expected in the coming days. Currently, preparations are underway to produce both accused individuals before a court to seek their remand, thereby facilitating a thorough and in-depth investigation into the case.
