Faridabad: In a major breakthrough, Haryana Police arrested two individuals and seized around 50–60 kilograms of explosives during raids in Sector 56, Faridabad, officials said on Tuesday.

The operation comes a day after a deadly explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station killed eight people and injured several others.

Links to Terror Module and Previous Arms Seizures

According to officials, the Crime Branch recovered the explosives during a coordinated raid, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

This comes just days after police busted a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, seizing 2,900 kg of explosives and a large cache of arms and ammunition in the region.

Authorities also confirmed the arrest of two Jammu & Kashmir-based doctors — Adil Ahmad Rather and Muzammil — connected to these terror outfits.

Sources suggest their arrest may have triggered panic among the module, potentially leading to the Red Fort blast.

Case Registered Under UAPA and Explosives Act

A case has been filed under Sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), along with provisions of the Explosives Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

NIA Takes Charge of Delhi Blast Investigation

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has officially handed over the Delhi blast case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the investigation’s progress and multi-state searches, reaffirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police have sealed Gate Nos. 1 and 4 of the Lal Qila Metro Station as part of the ongoing security operations. Investigators are now working to reconstruct the timeline of events leading up to the explosion, examining every possible angle.
