Two dead as car hits tree in Australia’s New South Wales

Sydney: Two people have died after a car hit a tree west of Sydney in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) on Tuesday morning.

Fatal crash near Black Springs
The NSW Police Force said emergency services were called to reports of a crash near the small town of Black Springs, about 135 km west of Sydney, at around 10:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Officers found that a sedan had left the road and struck a tree, killing the male driver and a female front-seat passenger, both believed to be in their 20s.

Third passenger injured, police seek information
A third occupant, a 50-year-old man who was seated in the back, was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics for suspected leg injuries. Police established a crime scene and appealed to anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact investigators.

Separate car–train collision claims two lives in Victoria
In a separate incident on Tuesday morning, two people were killed when a car collided with a freight train at a railway crossing near the town of Cressy, about 120 km west of Melbourne in the state of Victoria. The victims, who have not yet been formally identified, died at the scene. Authorities said the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
