New Delhi, Dec 24, 2025: Delhi Police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized a substantial quantity of heroin valued at about Rs 1.5 crore in the international market during an anti-narcotics operation in outer north Delhi, officials confirmed. The operation is part of intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking in the national capital.
Police recovered approximately 304 grams of heroin from the suspects as part of the operation, highlighting the ongoing challenges of controlling narcotics distribution networks in and around the city.
Law enforcement authorities said the arrests stemmed from specific intelligence inputs that led them to monitor suspected movement of narcotics in the area. Officers from the relevant Delhi police unit intercepted the individuals and seized the contraband under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The duo has been taken into custody and is being questioned to determine the source of the drugs and whether they are linked to a broader network of traffickers. Police also plan to register appropriate legal sections against them based on the evidence and preliminary investigation.
Delhi Police have been stepping up anti-narcotics operations across the city in recent months, targeting both local dealers and inter-state supply strings. A series of high-profile raids have led to multiple seizures and arrests, underscoring law enforcement’s focus on dismantling drug syndicates.
These efforts align with broader nationwide drives against narcotics trafficking under the NDPS Act, involving coordinated action by the police, Narcotics Control Bureau, and allied agencies.
